When students at Cootamundra Public School set out to learn more about dairy cows, healthy lifestyles and the Australian dairy industry, they found a creative way to bring those lessons to life.

As part of Dairy Australia's Picasso Cows education program, students have been exploring the journey of milk from farm to fridge while learning about nutrition, dairy farming and the role cows play in producing the dairy products Australians enjoy every day.

To support the project, the school organised a hot chocolate fundraiser and reached out to Riverina Fresh for assistance. With approximately 230 students involved, the fundraiser aimed to raise money to purchase paint and materials for the school's Picasso Cow model.

Riverina Fresh was pleased to donate milk for the fundraiser, helping students enjoy warm hot chocolates during the cold Cootamundra winter while contributing to the success of the initiative.

The fundraiser proved to be a hit, raising enough money for students to purchase paint and begin transforming their cow into a vibrant work of art. The students have proudly named their creation Lil Milky and have embraced the opportunity to combine creativity with hands-on learning about agriculture and healthy eating.

Classroom Teacher Georgia Armstrong said the students have thoroughly enjoyed every part of the project.
